Guests can spend a day with their family, friends or corporate group enjoying wine tasting of Kleinberg's own range of wines, cheese platters or a range of goodies from our country pantry, coffee pot and expanding deli while their children play on our large jungle gym and trampoline. Our country adventures include: Clay pigeon shooting - Guests can practice their skill while enjoying the views. Our clay pigeon shooting has proved to be very popular activity with grooms and their friends on the morning of the wedding. The guests have a great time competing with each other and the best man leaves with a certificate to present later to the groom, which gives an indication of the groom's prowess with a shotgun. Shooters will be required to sign an indemnity form. Booking essential. Horse riding with an experienced guide - Guests will explore 500 hectares of farmland and natural bush which includes 7 dams and part of the original Voortrekker road. Horse and tack provided. Riders will be required to sign an indemnity form. Booking essential. Trout fishing- Guests can cast their flies over one of 7 dams and experience what the Midlands is all about! (Catch and release only.) Must bring own fishing equipment. Wine tasting at Kleinberg Wines- A tasting of the Kleinberg range of wines which includes Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Stein, Cabernet Sauvignon, Picnic Rouge and Pinotage. May be accompanied by a cheese and biscuit tray. Wine Tasting Cheese & biscuit platters available Picnics can be arranged if booked in advance. Pony rides are available for the inexperienced or very young riders. Whilst on the farm, guests can visit the pigs, guinea fowl, chickens or even learn how cows are milked the old-fashioned way. Kleinbosch Cottage is a cosy self-catering cottage situated on a working farm in the beautiful Mount West region in the heart of the KwaZulu-Natal midlands. Ideally situated on the Midlands Meander just 3kms off the freeway and 11kms from the heart of Nottingham Road for shopping or eating out. Facilities available: 1 bedroom with queen size bed (includes dual-control electric blanket) 1 bathroom with bath and shower (young children can sleep on the couch in the lounge - bedding and hot water bottle is provided) Open plan kitchen, dining area and lounge Fully equipped kitchen (minus an oven) and braai facilities complete your ideal getaway cottage. Fireplace. The cottage is serviced daily by a resident maid. Activities on offer at Kleinbosch Estate include clay pigeon shooting, horse riding, trout fishing and long country walks. Booking is essential for clay pigeon shooting and horse riding. If you plan to do some fishing, please bring your own fishing equipment. We can organise fishing equipment hire if given sufficient notice. What to wear when you visit Kleinbosch Estate: If you plan to do some horse riding, long pants and sturdy shoes or boots, preferably with a heel are encouraged. Hard hats will be provided. If you plan to do some walking, sturdy walking shoes are the order of the day. Remember that it gets cold and misty in the Midlands in the autumn so make sure to bring warm jerseys for the evenings.
