Location: South Africa » Kwazulu Natal » Natal Midlands » Midlands Meander » Nottingham RoadHot Air Ballooning SAMAGALIESBERG, we fly from Hunters Rest, a 4-star lodge in the heart of the mountains, 60km from Sun City.DescriptionThe areas you fly from, and over, your host’s hospitality, the quality of balloons and equipment, the expertise of your pilot, the post-flight celebration, fun and involvement, all contribute to a real ballooning experience. It is for these reasons that we fly from our carefully selected venues - Toadbury Hall, The Cradle Game Reserve and Clarens. Our balloons are smaller and more intimate, our pilots are national champions, and our hospitality provides for lots of fun and involvement. We call this REAL ballooning. Hot air ballooning is about an intriguing blend of personal challenge, adventure, romance, the unknown, colour and fun, of getting closer to nature’s elements of earth, wind, fire and firmament. If surreality has a place in life’s list of experiences, then perhaps hot air ballooning best provides it. It’s about experiencing mankind’s oldest form of aviation, suspended animation beneath a colourful canopy of hot air – destination unknown! - momentarily leaving the loving arms of Mother Earth, outside the confines of aircraft, at one with nature. It’s gentle, it’s safe, and we at Hot Air Ballooning SA are privileged to provide the very best of it. We offer the full spectrum of hot air ballooning services throughout South Africa, subject only to capacity and venue suitability. MISSION STATEMENT Our mission is to provide a safe and reliable opportunity to experience the very best that hot air ballooning in South Africa has to offer by flying in the best areas, employing the best pilots and flying the finest balloons. In so doing, he got ballooning off the ground in South Africa; he has built over 50 balloons. Amongst his most memorable achievements was launching his balloon from the Ark Royal, an aircraft carrier, landing in Malta in the mid 1970s. Terry has ballooned the length and breadth of South Africa and is a legend in international ballooning circles. Most present day balloonists owe our ballooning involvement to Terry.
