With our increasing busy lifestyles it is often impossible to do all the things we would like to do with our kids, as time is always an issue – not anymore!! Sierra Ranch focuses on family fun weekend getaways, offering activities for the whole family such as quad biking, tennis, squash, bowls, volleyball, swimming, darts, pool, table tennis, a playground, an animal farm and a very social saloon bar. We are also renowned for our specials on mid-week breaks, conferencing, weddings and memorable team building experiences.

Every effort has been made to ensure a fun filled, safe and happy environment for your children to be children, and for you as adults to enjoy a relaxing and peaceful getaway on 935ha of open land amidst the beautiful mountains of the Natal midlands.

Accomodation

Accommodation at SIERRA RANCH consists of COTTAGES, CHALETS, HOTEL rooms & the BUNKHOUSE which surround the main complex. All accommodation consists of shower/bath except the bunkhouse, which has baths only. Bunkhouse accommodation is not en-suite & is at a reduced rate. Suitable for groups of schoolchildren or family groups.

Rondavels
Our rondavels are lovely thatched accommodation with an on-suite bath/shower, sleeping two people sharing.

Chalets
Suited for families, the chalets can sleep 4 to 6 people in each and are situated outside and to the left of the main building, and have their own bathrooms.

Hotel
The hotel rooms are above the main building and can sleep from 2 people sharing to 5 people sharing. Each room has an on-suite bathroom and most of them have a small verandah with a lovely view of the resort grounds!

Bunkhouse
The bunkhouse is perfect for big family get togethers, school groups and larger groups wanting to all stay close. It is a two story building with five rooms on each level. Each room consists of two single beds and an up and down bunk bed. Between five rooms there are three baths and three toilets. The bunkhouse can sleep a total of 40 people comfortably.

Adventure and Holiday Camps

The Adventure Camp philosophy is to promote a fun experience that nurtures abilities, independence & teamwork in a background of safety & supervision while enjoying the outdoors, sports & sunshine.

This we achieve through awesome facilities & qualified staff who are committed to making it a cool & safe holiday experience for all age groups through appropriate entertainment, in a care filled atmosphere & proper organisation.

The Adventure Camp welcomes Youth between the ages of seven & seventeen.

Holiday Camps take place during school breaks, whilst term time is used for educational, environmental plus other.

Motor Biking and Quad Biking
Bring your motorbikes and quads and test your riding skills on our motor cross track, which includes some testing double jumps and a 30 meter table top. For the trail riding specialists we have over 700 hectares of breathtaking countryside to explore with rocky hillclimbs, rivercrossings, mudholes and some wide open grasslands for the speed freaks (just beware of the odd porcupine hole). We also have up to 30 Km of existing marked trails for those who would rather stick to the beaten track. Correct protective gear including a helmet at all times is compulsory on the farm.

Playground
For the kids we have the perfect playground to keep them busy for hours on end, with a colourful play tractor, swings, see-saw, roundabout, maypole & a jungle gym for the little ones.

Swimming Pool
Enjoy a swim in our large swimming pool, where lunches and refreshments are served on sunny days. The swimming pool is centrally situated with tennis court, bowls, pony rides and kids playground all in close viewing proximity. Enjoy a cold beer from our pool-side bar, while relaxing in the pool on the cocktail seats. Poolside activities and games are enjoyed by all during holiday season.

Airstrip

The airstrip co-ordinates are: 29.09 SOUTH 30.06 EAST DURBAN QNN 4800 FT. RUNWAY 21 & ZERO 3 940 METERS LONG Sufficient parking for a number of light aircrafts. Please note that, as the airstrip is not in continuous use, we must be advised in advance to prepare the strip & arrange additional security for the duration of your stay. We are busy erecting light aircraft hangers.
