The Nest Hotel is the oldest and most well-known of all the Berg resorts in the Natal Drakensberg. The Nest hotel offers more than just resort accommodation. the hotel offers conference facilities, great food and excellent sporting facilities

Celebrating its 70th year of welcoming guests in 2003, The Nest Hotel has a strong following of guests who make a point of coming year after year, returning to this most special place of comfort, wonder and beauty.

Accommodation at the Nest Hotel

Set in acres of beautiful and well kept park-like gardens, our rooms offer a peaceful escape from the hustle of city life, which by choice have no televisions in the rooms.

All rooms are en-suite, have tea / coffee making facilities and radio, and will soon also all have ceiling fans, electronic safes, undercarpet heating and heated towel racks.

Mountain facing rooms

Each of these rooms has a private balcony ideal for morning tea or sundowners whilst taking in the spectacular view that each room enjoys

Premier Garden rooms

Recently refurbished with underfloor heating, heated towel racks, fans and new décor. Some of these have thatched roofs.

Garden Rondawels

The cosy and comfortable garden rondavels are very popular and are also mostly thatched for that unique African feeling.

Paraplegic Rooms

The Nest is very accessible for wheel-chair bound people and there are a few rooms that are ideal. One of the rooms has a very large roll-in shower area.

Honeymoon rooms

The Nest attracts a lot of honeymooners keen to get away from the madding crowd. We welcome you to be our guest on your honeymoon, prepare to be spoilt!

Executive suites

We have two new executive suites. Each one is over 150 square meters and comprises of a large bedroom, bathroom, fireplace, air-conditioning, kitchenette, TV, Internet port and large balcony with an excellent view of the Ukhahlamba Drakensberg.

The new conference venue has been completed and have hosted a number of successful and memorable events, conferences and weddings.

The venue is a modern and flexible building for conferencing, functions and more. Up to 200 delegates can be accommodated cinema style with various other configurations available. With a banqueting kitchen and gala banqueting seating for up to 150 people, our double-volume Ukhahlamba Hall will make a favourable impression on your guests or delegates and ensure a memorable event.

Various break-away rooms allow for greater communication and networking. Our Heritage Lounge Bar provides the ideal space for an elegant cocktail party.
