Ripplemead is easily accessible and very conveniently situated, only 100m off the N2 (your national road to the Cape) and 14kms from the busy hub of KOKSTAD. No need to enter Kokstad at all, just fill up with petrol at the "Wimpy/Engen One-Stop" on the outskirts of the town, it's convenient and completely hassle-free.
The old farmhouse and attached rondavel have been beautifully converted and refurbished and offer friendly farm hospitality, and delicious breakfasts. Kokstad is close enough for a visit to Cassandra's Coffee Shop, Spur or Wimpy for a lovely evening out and great menu choices. An added luxury at Ripplemead is the crystal clear spring water which is on tap in all the units. The establishment consists of four en-suite units: - "GRANNY BETTY'S" - sleeps 4. It comprises 2 bedrooms, lounge/dining room with DStv, a fully equipped kitchen with stove, microwave, fridge, kettle, toaster, crockery, cutlery, pots and pans. A hospitality tray and fresh farm milk is supplied daily. Ideal for families.
- "IAN'S HUT" - sleeps 2. Beautifully decorated bed-sitter, en-suite shower/toilet, DStv, fridge, microwave, kettle and a hospitality tray and fresh farm milk is supplied daily. A favourite with honeymoon couples.
- "LAVENDER & ROSE" - sleeps 2. Beautifully decorated bed-sitter, en-suite shower/toilet, two single beds, microwave, DStv, and a Hospitality tray and fresh farm milk daily. Gas water geyser.
- "KING TUT" - single/double. Beautifully decorated, en-suite shower & toilet, microwave, DStv, and a Hospitality tray is suplied daily.

All units are serviced daily. Toiletries are provided. Electric blankets and heaters are provided in Winter and fans in Summer. Secure, safe parking. The establishment is surrounded by a security fence and gate.
The 2 dams in close proximity of the Guesthouse, as well as the 5km of the 'Swartwater River' which flows through the farm, is stocked with Rainbow Trout and Bass.

AttractionsLovely walks, fishing and a bird watchers paradise. Birdwatchers: Of particular interest to birdwatchers, is the 'Wetland Bird Sanctuary' virtually on our doorstep where the elusive 'Whitewinged Flufftail' can be spotted. This particular Flufftail is the rarest and least known of the Flufftails. Another site to visit is the 'Franklin Vlei' (a short distance away) where this Flufftail can also be spotted. Ripplemead is a birdwatcher's paradise. Here we have the 'Redchested Flufftail'.   
DirectionsComing from Mt. Ayliff, turn right at the Wimpy/Mt. Currie Inn intersection onto the N2, cross 3 bridges, pass the Pink Church (landmark), cross the Swartwater Bridge, 200 m. up the climbing lanes, turn right. Large signboards on the road.
Coming from Durban on the N2, pass Ingeli Forest Lodge, travel 19 kms. you will find our sign board on the left.
