Bingelela is nestled in the foothills of the Drakensberg Mountains between Winterton and Bergville and  is the ideal breakaway from the hustle & bustle of city life. Whether you choose to run in for a refreshing drink and a superb supper, or sleep over for a few days, the Bingelela experience will stay with you for a long time.

Bingelela - Restaurant, B&B and Self Catering between Bergville and WintertonAlways keen to innovate, hosts Joss & Paula have managed to create a stylish yet cosy venue in their old farmhouse for both intimate dining by candlelight and a fun night out with a crowd. Surrounded by huge trees with a view on the mountains, this is the perfect place for special occasions. Joss and Paula will treat you to their typical homely hospitality as if you were family visiting for the holidays. Joss still actively farms and will gladly share his experience with you.

At Bingelela we pride ourselves on our earthly hospitality. Combined with our staff's excellent service and the peaceful and tranquil surroundings, we are confident that you will soon become a regular.

Bingelela is a member of the Drakensberg Tourism Association.

Some three kilometers from Bergville on the R74 road (between Bergville & Harrismith), Bingelela is as centrally positioned as you can get. Three hours drive from both Johannesburg and Durban, there is no more ideal halfway restover than Bingelela.

Accommodation at Bingelela

Bingelela - Restaurant, B&B and Self Catering between Bergville and WintertonDuring 2001, Bingelela  added 10 chalets, providing a facility to sleep 35 persons. Each unique chalet or rondawel has en-suite facilities, and free standing between our forests of tall blue gum trees with a wild asparagus undergrowth.

Apart from the en-suite bathrooms, our chalets are equipped with a cosy fireplace and lounge suite for those romantic winter nights, coffee & tee facilities, bedside lamps, a small veranda and thatched roofs for that tranquil atmosphere.

Up to four people can sleep in a chalet and you will find our prices very reasonable, compared to what we offer. We are very central as far as the Northern and Central Berg is concerned, making this an ideal "base" from which to explore the lovely Drakensberg Mountains.

Before embarking on the rest of your journey, spend the night in one of our charming thatched cottages amongst the trees.

Bingelela Resturant

Bingelela - Restaurant, B&B and Self Catering between Bergville and WintertonBingelela opened its doors on 27 September 1999 as a small 12 seater a' la carte restaurant, which had since expanded in three years into a 68 seater inside - and a Boma which accommodates 36 to 60 seats

Both dining areas overlook the beautiful garden and swimming pool, whilst you have a choice of smoking and non-smoking areas. The a' la carte menu with its wide ranging selection of meticulously prepared dishes as well as tempting light lunchtime options keep regulars returning for more.

Our gourmet getaway is intimate, personal and very welcoming. Bingelela is a haven for food lovers, thanks to Paula's passion for cooking, while Joss will quench your thirst after a hectic day, in our always cosy, yet vibrant pub.
